WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Two separate crashes caused power outages in Waco early Thursday morning.

One of the crashes happened just after midnight, near the intersection of West Waco Drive and North 38th Street, police said.

The driver, a man in his 20s, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center, police said.

The outage caused by the crash left the stoplights on flash at the intersection of Waco and Valley Mills drivers.

Temporary stop signs were placed in the intersection.

Another vehicle slammed into a utility pole in a second single-vehicle crash early Thursday at Waco Drive and Garrison Street.

The crash left about 2,100 customers without power, but service has since been restored.

The car’s driver wasn’t injured and was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
