(KWTX) - Hunan at 913 South Fort Hood St. in Killeen got a 92 on a recent inspection.

The health worker noted, the racks inside the walk-in cooler needed to be cleaned.

There was mold.

The fan guards inside the cooler, the bulk containers, and the coolers themselves needed cleaning.

The thermometer was also missing, which is a repeat violation. Sonic at 1514 South Fort Hood Street in Killeen got a 95 on a recent inspection.

The health worker noted a moldy ice machine and the walk-in cooler walls needed cleaning.

Apparently, there were ketchup and mayo stains listed on the report.

Also, the bulk foods items needed to be labeled. Sushi 1 Japanese Restaurant at 710 West Rancier Ave. in Killeen got a 95 on a recent inspection.

The health worker noted the soda cooler rack was dirty, the hot water side of the hand-washing sink was not working and there was oil residue under the fryer and behind the fryer area, which could be a safety hazard.

And the food-handlers’ certification was expired. Bougie Vegan (formerly Planted Foodie Truck) at 2114 Sparta Rd. in Belton is this week’s Clean Plate Award winner.

“Looks fabulous,” the health inspector noted.

According to the owner, her meals are 100% plant based- all vegan.

Her “vegan van” serves up a tasty harvest burger and black truffle fries.

She said the truck has gotten so much love in Central Texas she’s heading to the Food Truck Championship of Texas on June 5.
