Key takeaways

  • Freezing drizzle has been the main type of precipitation that’s caused some bridges, overpasses, and untreated side streets to become slick.
  • Travel is hazardous but roads are passable. If you’re venturing out, prepare to travel much slower than normal.
  • Road conditions may not improve drastically this afternoon but will improve Friday
  • Here’s the latest forecast

Thursday’s forecast

Freezing drizzle continues to plague cities and towns near and east of I-35 but that’s coming to a close soon.

Precipitation should finish east of I-35 between roughly 4 PM and 8 PM with no more rain on the way until late Friday and Saturday.

Although temperatures may briefly warm above freezing this afternoon, we’ll be right back below freezing before midnight and icy bridges and overpasses could still be possible early Friday morning. We’ll see a quick improvement of road conditions when we warm above freezing before midday Friday.
