Good News Friday: February 25, 2022

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Here’s this weeks Good News Friday.

Copperas Cove ISD has more than 20 students who received Division One ratings at the State Choir Qualifier and they will advance.

Maggie Hodnick is named a 2022 All-State Dancer.

Maggie attended the Texas Dance Educators Association Convention as one of 250 dancers chosen from around the state.

She was able to perform as a member of the All State Dance Team representing Belton High School and Belton ISD.

West High School student Gus Crain won second place overall at the China Spring Golf Tournament.

The Lady Trojan Varsity Golf team placed third.

The Trojan Varsity Golf team tied for third.

Copperas Cove ISD’s S C Lee Cougarettes won the State Dance Championship.

They qualify for the national championship at the University of North Texas in March.

Dancers also won state championship duet, solo, and three division one soloists.

News Ten Anchor Julie Hays was featured in the Waco Tribune-Herald as someone who makes a difference within the community.

Julie does a regular segment called “Tell Me Something Good” and is also heavily involved with several organizations in Waco.
